LG GW300- A handy messaging tool

lg-gw300The LG GW300 is one of the new phones set to hit the market later this year. The phone will feature in the low to mid range of the price spectrum. Featuring an eye-catching smartphone like design, the LG GW300 looks far more expensive than it actually is. The phone is quite pocket friendly, in part due to its low weight of only 95 g, but also because of its rounded edges that allow it to be slipped into your pocket quite easily.

Quad band GSM connectivity allows you to use the phone for roaming quite efficiently. But the main feature of the LG GW300 is the full QWERTY keyboard that lies just below the screen. This keyboard has nice large keys that are well apart from each other thus making it easy for you to type out text messages and emails even if you are stuck with large fingers! The 2.4 inch display has a 240 x 320 pixel resolution which is quite disappointing, as the images on the screen appear dull and blurry. Web pages appear clear enough as long as most of the web page is taken up by text instead of images. GPRS and EDGE networks allow you to connect to the internet whenever you want to. Unfortunately, the phone does not come with HSDPA or WI-Fi, but this is hardly what you would expect in a phone in its price range.

The 2 MP camera of the LG GW300 can capture videos in addition to still shots. Expanding the memory to store this new media is easy using the microSD card slot. Other media features include an MP3 and MPEG4 player, and an FM radio.
One disappointing feature of the LG GW300 is its battery life which will likely last for up to 2 days with moderate use.

LG GW300. Youth phone

Ah, verily it is upon us, the day we hath foreseen for so many, erm, months now…

We knew it was going to happen. You knew it was going to happen. It’s Blackberry for the masses time. And you know what: why not. You might not get all that excited to learn that the LG GW300 is all about Twitter this, Facebook that. That you can SMS and email and SMS some more to your little hearts content using the decent QWERTY keyboard on this thing. But many, many young things out there are going to lap this up and run screaming in the direction of LG GW300 deals like these. Because this thing will be about as cheap as full-QWERTY gets once it hits out shelves in a few months time. Not just cheap, but dirt cheap, because there’s no Wi-Fi, no GPS, not even any 3G to be had. Just the basic, and the keyboard.

So turn your nose up all you want, you phone snob. Just because a phone isn’t designed with you in mind, doesn’t mean it’s a bad phone. Far from it. The screen’s alright. The camera’s not bad. There’s a bunch of pre-installed apps and gizmos that will make your social networking a whole lot easier.

And has all this cheap thumb tapping action got you excited? Are you the kind of person who’s pushing the evolution of the thumb on at huge rates thanks to your constant texting? Are you one of the “youth” who will like this phone according to GSM Arena? Then have a little look at this LG GW300 review to find out all the stats and specs you could need.
