Vodafone Launches LG GM750 in UK

LG GM750Despite the recent surge of Android smart phones, the solid status of the iPhone in the mobile phone industry and the fact that the Windows Mobile operating system seriously needs a serious revamp, Microsoft still stands solidly behind their mobile phone OS. Those arguments aside, the WinMo devices are still supported by buyers –which is why carriers and manufacturers still support the OS.

Case in point, the LG GM750, another Windows Mobile phone with slightly above the average specifications of a modern day smart phone; Vodafone is releasing the GM750 in the UK. Putting aside the point that Vodafone is also releasing the HTC Tattoo and Sony Ericsson Satio as well (an Android and a Symbian, respectively), this shows that WinMo devices are still very marketable.

LG WinMo Specs

According to LG GM750 reviews, the mobile phone comes loaded with both GSM quad band and UMTS dual band 3G. It can connect to HSDPA, GPRS and EDGE. Phone Arena states that the device has 3 inch touch screen and a resolution of 240 x 400 pixels.

The 5 mega pixel camera is pretty high end for a WinMo phone, but at least users can transfer the high resolution images to the computer for editing or printing. The camera has both flash and auto-focus features.

Windows Media Player 10 supports the playback of various media file types. MPEG4, 3GP, H.263 and H.264 video formats are all compatible with the Windows Media Player. For music, users can play MP3, AAC, AAC+, WMA and AMR files. The device also features an FM radio function as well.

Availability

Vodafone has some LG GM750 deals that offer the device for free on certain plans. The phone is also available on retail for buyers that are not too keen on getting tied up to a plan for more than a year.
